A small selection of noted achievements and successful tenancy engagement activities organized by Housing Support workers employed by Midlands Living CIC & SAIF Social and Health Care Homes Ltd. was Conducted in collaboration with our sister housing providers and tenancy support agencies at various UK-supported accommodation properties.

DELIVERY OF ADDITIONAL MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING SUPPORT TO TENANTS

Abdul Falomo, and his colleague, assisted by Ibrar who is employed as the supported housing company’s mental health and wellbeing practitioner, recently organized a one-off well-being session for their tenants in October 2022, as part of the accommodation’s ongoing life skills-themed activity program. The accommodation is managed by National Community Homes CIC and Safe Homes Ltd.

MIDLANDS LIVING CIC’s ACTIVITIES TO HELP TENANTS WITH PETS 

Our newly established liaison relationship with the Street Paws Charity has provided the opportunity for our support workers to receive free quality introductive Canine veterinary care training to assist them with their engagement with tenants who are pet owners at our pet-friendly accommodation provision

DELIVERY OF FAMILY TENANTS’ ACTIVITIES DURING THE SCHOOL SUMMER HOLIDAY 2022

Urooj, and her team of support workers, successfully delivered a series of fun and exciting activities to help their residents with childcare needs at their accommodation during the summer holiday period in 2022. This included a family trip to Alton Towers, delivery of daily creative artwork activities for tenants’ children, and participation in the National Children Summer Read Challenge at their local library.

SUMMARY OF A SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION PROJECT-  DONATED SCHOOL FOOTWEAR TO FAMILIES LIVING IN SUPPORTED EXEMPT ACCOMMODATION

As part of Networkfour’s poverty prevention and community engagement activities, the charity has established a successful  ‘Life & Sole’  project so that children, young people, adults, and families in crisis on low income & benefits can obtain free, good quality pre-loved footwear, and further advisory support from local agencies if requested.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT-THEMED WORKSHOP

A  women-only ‘Wellbeing and Empowerment’ event was held in June 2022, as part of our agenda to deliver quality focussed engagement activities for our individuals/families tenants.

FAMILY TENANTS’ ENGAGEMENT WITH BIRMINGHAM THE ACTIVE SOCIETY- POP UP SHARE SHACK

One of our Family Support Workers, Soulmaz, arranged for Birmingham The Active Society to deliver their ‘Pop-up Share Shack’ initiative at her accommodation for a trial run for 4 weeks, starting from 28th November 2022 on a weekly basis.

OUR PROMOTION OF THE “STARTS AT HOME CAMPAIGN – 2022″ – CHAMPIONING SUPPORTED HOUSING

Midlands Living CIC, in collaboration with Saif Social & Health Care Homes and National Community Homes, ensures that people facing homelessness and life challenges/barriers who need extra support will always have a safe home that meets their needs within our supported accommodation.

Various life skills-themed activities were delivered to our tenants, with the active collaboration of Midlands Living CIC’s associated supported housing companies, its partner agencies, statutory and voluntary services, local community provision and charities, public services, other like-minded supported providers, local businesses, and other professional agencies.

– Successfully provided support to one of our male DA tenants in collaboration with our partner agencies, in recognition of the Mankind Charity’s Male Victims of Domestic Abuse Awareness Day 2022 on Wednesday 2nd November 2022.

– SUCCESSFUL ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR REFUGEE/MIGRANT  TENANTS WHO ARE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE
